When you move into a new build, it might not have a council tax band yet. Your band is decided by the central government’s Valuation Office Agency (VOA), not the city council. Find out if your new build has a band.
Some areas of Leeds have a parish council or town council. If you live in one of these areas, you may see an extra charge on your council tax bill. This charge is to pay for the running of your local parish or town council. It is not an optional charge and we must include it in your bill.
Find out if you live in a parish or town council area.
The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is responsible for deciding which band a property is in.
You may be able to challenge your council tax band if you think it is wrong. Find out how to make an appeal.
