Combined Authority Mayoral election for the West Yorkshire Combined Authority

1. An election is to be held for a combined authority mayor for the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.                          

2. Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Combined Authority Returning Officer, Electoral Services, 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR during the times stated below, or can be downloaded from www.electoralcommission.org.uk.                          

3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Combined Authority Returning Officer at 4th Floor West, Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR between 10am and 4pm on any working day after publication of this notice but no later than 4pm on Friday 5 April 2024.                          

4. The £5,000 deposit can be paid by legal tender, bank transfer or by means of a banker’s draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom. To request bank details, please email electors@leeds.gov.uk.                          

5. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 2 May 2024.                          

6. Applications to register to vote must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Tuesday 16 April 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.                          

7. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.                          

8. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
