Landlord Letting Scheme

We run a free membership scheme to help landlords let properties quickly and help people who are looking for homes.

Most tenants in the scheme receive Universal Credit and are looking for housing at short notice. If you join, there is no obligation to accept tenants from the scheme and you are free to rent your property to other tenants.

Benefits of the scheme

If you join the scheme:

  • you will not pay anything
  • we will help you find tenants
  • tenants are available immediately
  • you will keep full control over your property
  • you could receive benefit payments directly
  • we will pay an agreed amount if there is any damage to your property or rent arrears
  • we can guarantee rent at the Local Housing Allowance rate for family properties for the initial 12 months of the tenancy
  • we can support you to resolve tenancy issues through landlord support

Landlord support

Eviction is often the last choice for landlords. It can be a costly and stressful experience for everyone involved.

We give advice and support if you are considering giving notice to your tenant.

We can offer you:

  • a dedicated point of contact
  • help with rent arrears
  • Universal Credit support
  • specialised tenant support
  • help with communication issues

Property inspections

If you apply to join the scheme we will carry out an inspection on your property to make sure it meets Housing Health and Safety Rating System standards. This inspection is free and if your property fails, we'll give you guidance on how to make it suitable.
